The keyboard works fine. Manufacturers have the choice what flash chip they use. Erasing the BIOS should be a harmless it is easy enough to reflash afterall but if you like, I will try it when I get my card and follow up.
Turns out one of the ports is defective, if I only use the good port the card works fine, Windows boots fine, and the drive functions fine in Windows.
